Patricia Bird's Bitch Critique
Minor Puppy (9, 3a)
1. Cox's Rearsbylea Midnight Rose. Stunning black with most beautiful coat, good substance and overall shape. So composed, with sweet expression and lovely eye. Long neck, good shoulder placement and length of loin. Super quarters, pasterns and feet. Handled to perfection and moved like a dream. I wish her a bright future. BPB, BP in show.
2. Thomas's Faracre Four Seasons. Lovely quality fawn bitch, but exhibitor did not stay for critique.
3. Price's Ashvillebur Jacks Jewel.
Puppy (4, 1a)
1. Wilkinson's Jenaul Jazmin at Benzfreya. Fawn of correct size in super fit condition, with attractive head, good front assembly complementing rear angulation. Hocks well let down, lovely feet, good bone. Moved well, really driving from behind.
2. Gant's Galafrai Venezia. Brindle of correct size with sweet expression. Good layback of shoulder and pleasing overall shape. Moved well.
3. Picolo's Kaymark Attraction.
Junior (8, 1a)
1. Howgate and Hull's Palmik Magical Whispers JW. Eye catching parti/brindle just full of quality. Beautiful head and eye, good underjaw. Long neck leading into lovely smooth well laid back shoulder. Ribbed well back, with strong quarters. Feminine sweep of stifle and hocks well let down. Good bone, correct feet. All this enabled her to move round the ring so effortlessly with low daisy cutting action and drive from behind.
2. Dixon's Millwold Mulling It Over. Another top quality bitch. Brindle of correct size, beautifully put together and presented. Feminine but powerful and elegant on the move. Lovely eye shape, good head, shoulder and depth of brisket. Ribbed well back. Strong quarters, balanced throughout.
3. Reeves' Chrispan I Am The One And Only.
Yearling (13, 1a)
1. Mixides' Yialousa Scarlet Ribbon. Delightful brindle with white points. Such an eye catcher, and so well put together. Dark eye, good head, long neck, smooth shoulder. Good infill and depth of brisket, nice tuck up and rise over loin. Strong quarters and second thigh, hocks well let down. No exaggerations and correct size. Moved well. RBB
2. Whitaker-Crosby's Mulcair Musical Melody. Fawn with finest of coats. Full of quality all through. Dark eye, good head with neat ears and good underjaw. Long neck, smooth shoulder, elbows tucked well under. Super length of loin with correct topline held on the move. So shapely and moved like a dream.
3. Hull's Norcairn Mirror Image of Lizmark.
Maiden (7, 3a)
1. Hull's Norcairn Mirror Image of Lizmark. Silver brindle. Liked her very much and thought her very shapely but carrying too much weight. Her feet were not very tight and some nail clipping could help. Lovely head and expression, long neck leading into smooth shoulder. Good length of loin and shapely quarters. Moved well.
2. Price's Ashvillebur Jacks Jewel. Correct size fawn of lovely shape with good bone and feet. Very sound mover. Should have a bright future.
Novice (10, 1a)
1. Lloyd's Whistljacket Holly. Feminine brindle, very neat with sweet expression. Built on racy lines but with enough substance. Good feet and curvy outline. Moved well.
2. Hull's Norcairn Mirror Image of Lizmark.
3. Dixon's Millwold Mulling It Over.
Post Graduate (17, 3a)
1. Whitaker-Crosby's Mulcair Mums The Word. Liked everything about this brindle particolour. She is so sound on the move, keeping topline and driving from behind on strong quarters. Lovely head and eye, long elegant neck, smooth shoulder, good bone, pasterns and feet. Good spring of rib, elegant underline.
2. Reed and Pace's Louidaple Venetian Whirl at Dejare. One I have judged and liked before. Brindle, presented in superb condition. Lovely head and eye, purposeful flowing movement, holding her topline, good feet and balanced throughout. Just a little happy with her tail.
3. Howgate and Hull's Palmik Midnight Mischief JW SH CM.
Limit (17, 3a)
1. Home and Fisher-Home's Jasarat Seventh Heaven. Correct size brindle, so feminine with sweet expression, nice head and small neat ears. Curvy from nose to tail, with good front assembly and driving quarters. Good feet and pasterns. Ribbed well back with pleasing topline held on the move. Precise and flowing mover.
2. Grant's Windfly Gold Dust. Fawn of larger frame than 1, but beautifully put together and in fit condition. Strode out well with strong driving movement. Good front and rear assembly.
3. Dixon's Mulling It Over.
Open (15, 4a)
1. Mycroft's Ch Supeta's Bootilicious Babe SH CM. Pale fawn of superb quality. Dark oval eye, beautiful head and long elegant neck leading into smooth well laid shoulder. Legs tucked well under, good infill and spring of rib. Front and rear quarters so balanced, super sweep of stifle with hocks well let down, best of feet. Expertly handled to move with drive and extension, holding her topline and looking the epitome of a feminine whippet bitch. BB and BIS.
2. Rankine's Collooney Hot to Handle. Exquisite dark brindle of ideal size, substance and shape. Dark eye, beautiful head, good underjaw and earset. Long neck, smooth shoulder, correct infill. Good length of loin, strong quarters, best of feet and pasterns. Presented in superb condition and moved so soundly.
3. Ormond's Elmanash Eliza at Denimonde.
Special Racing/Lure Coursing (3, 1a)
1. Grant's Windfly Gold Dust.
2. Grant's Windfly Rosie Nosie. Neat white bitch built on racy lines. Sweet expression, pleasing head and eye, long neck. Good length of loin and nice overall balance and shape. In good muscle tone.
Special Beginners (2)
1. Knight's Hoycotts Misty Dawn. Brindle/white of nice type. Liked her overall shape. Balanced with attractive head, long neck, deep brisket, well constructed forehand and strong quarters. Moved well.
2. Tarbuck's Linsea Angel Delight. Small fawn built on racy lines. Quite light in bone but balanced throughout and moved very neatly. A little apprehensive.
Veteran (10, 4a)
1. Howgate and Hull's Palmik Princess. I was enchanted by this brindle bitch. A joy to go over, and when she moved she was stunning. Presented in superb condition and showing her socks off. Feminine but with substance. Lovely head, long elegant neck, smooth well laid back shoulder. Good infill and neat underline at nearly 8, ribbed well back, strong quarters with hocks well let down and lovely sweep of stifle. Super front extension.
2. Spencer's Of Summer's Joy Gillian at Chelridge (Imp). 8 year old fawn girl who knows she's beautiful. So honest, with gleaming coat and in super condition. Lovely head and eye, long neck, smoothest of shoulders, correct topline and everything so balanced throughout. Moved well.
