Kevan Ellis's Dog Critique

 

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of East Anglian Whippet Club for this invitation to judge my first Breed Club Show, and for their hospitality.  Thanks to the exhibitors for entering and accepting my placements but a big thank you to my stewards Pat and Ray who did an excellent job.


Minor Puppy Dog
1st Clarke and Moore's Yialousa Frisco Bay At Sunwalkers.  Lovely balanced blue brindle puppy of excellent size, good head and ears with expression, correct bone, well layed shoulders, good width of thigh, moved soundly with drive.
2nd Bell's Willingwisp Mcvitie with Windsdream.  Excellent quality fawn brindle who when settled moved well, lovely neck, shoulders and upper arm, finest coat and skin.
3rd Wilkinson's Benzfreya Drumbeat

 

Puppy Dog
1st Neale's Stormalong Blackout. Gleaming black with masculine head, well filled front, good shoulders and quarters, standing on excellent feet, moving soundly.
2nd Wilkinson's Benzfreya Drumbeat.  Brindle, moved settled moving, masculine head to gooh neck and overall length, good feet and pasterns.
3rd Petit's Runaway Romeo

 

Junior Dog
1st Smith's Turn of Gold at Yantabella.  Brindle and white, well balaned, correct sized dog, excellent head and eyes good neck and shoulders, firm quarters moving well.
2nd Ormond's Denimonde Over the Moon.  Fawn, of excellent quality, well filled front, good bone and muscle tone, moved soundly.
3rd Noel-Smith's Jemalsheva Moonlight
 

Yearling Dog.
1st Jones' Welstar With Strauss.  Well balanced red fawn, lovely head, with correct shoulders and upper arm, in excellent condition, won this class on his clean accurate movement, close up in the challenge. 
2nd Nichol's Inca Gold.  Lovely quality pale fawn, good head and shoulders with well filled front, good quarters, moving well, unlucky to meet first.
3rd Clilverd's Monelli Mississippi

 

Maiden Dog
1st Nichol's Inca Gold

Novice Dog
1st Wilkinson's Benzfreya Drumbeat
2nd Faber's Sufeina Hedge Your Bets.  Black, of excellent quality, good head, neck and shoulders, shown in hard condition with good feet and pasterns.
3rd Long's Silkdance Masterclass
 

PG Dog
1st Head's Demerlay Rhythmblues.  Red fawn with ring presence, good head and eye, well filled deep chest and correct lay of shoulder to excellent quarters, moving accurately with purpose. BD RBIS.
2nd Harris' Shirotae Silver Song. Good sized brindle and similar to 1st, with good head and shoulders, in excellent condition, moving well.
3rd Connatty's Silkdance Red Admiral


Limit Dog
1st Cox's Reasbylea Recruit.  High quality fawn and white dog, lovely head and expression, good fill and depth of chest, good quarters giving excellent profile movement with good reach.  RBD.
2nd Crosse's Jayglo Just A Gem.  Another quality dog woth masculine head, good neck and shoulders, moving with drive whilst holding his top line, lose descision with 1st in this strong class.
3rd Cutter and Lubin's Washbanks Wellington
 

Open Dog
1st Thomas' Faracre Firebird.  Fawn dog with lovely head, correct eyes and ears, excellent shoulders, correct bone, moving well in profile and shown in excellent bloom.
2nd Candler-Smith's Barmoll Barrister.  Correct sized fawn dog with good head and neck, moved well.
3rd Long's Blandings Earl Grey

Racing/Lure Coursing Dog
1st Price's Whisterfield Jack The Lad Among Silkdance.  awn dog of good make and shape, with feet and pasterns, good muscle tone, moving freely whilst holding topline.
2nd Bayley's Wisterfield Sweet William.  Another fawn dog in good condition wth good shoulders, moved well.

 

SB Dog
1st Cutter and Lubin's Suchini Shamus.  Lovely fawn and white puppy, still raw but with potential, excellent head and expression, good neck and shoulders with good length of body, standing on best of feet.
2nd Harris' Shirotae Silver Song
3rd Clilverd's Monelli Mississippi

 

Veteran Dog
1st Gilke's Spinnyhill Minstrel.  Loved this 8 1/2 year old dog, correct size, balanced brindle dog with excellent shoulders and shown in good condition, moving freely and accurately.
2nd Candler-Smith's Maidenbower Matchmaker with Tomodachi. Fawn dog with good head and eye, well layed shoulder and moving well.
3rd Brown's Courthill Chain Reaction of Hazeacre
